The Top 11 Fall 2025 Trends From London Fashion Week

The Fall 2025 edition of London Fashion Week may have featured fewer “big name” designers than usual, but there was still no shortage of the creativity and subversiveness the city’s designers are known for.

Designers like Pauline Dujancourt, Di Petsa and Dilara Findikoglu used lace to reveal many (if not all) parts of the body, while Mithridate, Ashish and Conner Ives used sparkly, light-reflecting fabrics to embolden their looks. Though, the quirkiest trend might be the abundance of weird, eccentric hats across various runways. There were also plenty of more conventional trends you might expect from Brits in the fall, like plaid.

Fringe

Texture and dimension were big in London, often achieved by various types of fringe: At Burberry and Temperly London, it was dense and swingy; while Jawara Alleyne and Roksanda went a bit more sparse and stringy. 

Sparkle & Shine

Fringe-esque tinsel was also a popular feature, providing both texture and sparkle at Ashish and Erdem. Elsewhere, designers used paillettes, sequins and lurex fabrics to make their designs shine.

Red, Red Wine

Burgundy for fall? Not exactly groundbreaking, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen this deep red-wine shade used so liberally across so many runways.

Furry Touches

Fur coats were big on the New York runways, and that continued a bit into London, but across the pond it was more about pops of fur (and fur alternatives), like fur trim at Burberry and Toga and fur accessories at Simone Rocha and Di Petsa.

Rad Plaid

Designers took plaids, tartans and other checks — classic features of British design — and made them their own: Burberry used them on cozy knits; Sinead Gorey went in a more “Clueless” direction; Kent & Curwen went full-blown preppy; and Jawara Alleyne leaned more into grunge.

Brooch-ing the Topic

Also seen in New York, these pinned-on accessories are being resurrected for a new generation.

Mad Hats

Everything from retro cloche and newsboy hats to textural head coverings made from sequins or feathers, to dramatic veiled styles were used to add an individualistic, eccentric feel to collections including Emilia Wickstead, Bora Aksu, Huishan Zhang and Toga.

Painterly Prints

A number of London designers imbued their collections with extra uniqueness via prints and accents that appear hand-painted; S.S. Daley and Keburia featured animals, while Erdem incorporated human faces. Di Petsa, Conner Ives and Chet Lo used more abstract patterns that almost have a Rorsach feel.

Skinny Scarves Return

The 2000s trend to watch for fall? Skinny scarves. What they lack in warmth, they make up for in style.

Boatnecks

A subtle but noteworthy observation: Necklines seem to be widening, cutting straight across the shoulders for an effortlessly alluring effect.

Lurid Lace

Lace may traditionally be associated with a girlish, almost virginal aesthetic, but for Fall 2025, designers like Di Petsa, Dilara Findikoglu and Dreaming Eli made the most of the fabric’s sheerness for revealing, not-quite-lingerie results.
