These are the stories making headlines in fashion on Tuesday.

Dior to stage runway show in Mumbai
Dior will show its Pre-Fall 2023 collection in Mumbai at the historic Gateway of India monument on March 30. According to Business of Fashion, “the event will be the first time a European luxury megabrand has staged a major standalone show in the country.” The collection will include pieces that reference traditional Indian silhouettes and will have embroidered embellishments by Chanakya, a Mumbai-based atelier. “I am doing this show for love of this country, and how much they support my creativity. It is really something very personal,” said Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri. {Business of Fashion}

Fall 2023 runways size inclusivity report
Based on data collected by Vogue Business, there was no progress when it came to size inclusion on the Fall 2023 runways. “Of 9,137 looks across 219 shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris, just 0.6 percent were plus-size (US 14+) and 3.8 percent were mid-size (US 6-12),” leaving the remaining 95.6% sizes 0-4. Only 17 brands included at least one plus-size look. Sinéad O’Dwyer, Ester Manas, Karoline Vitto, Di Petsa and Bach Mai had the highest percentage of plus-size and mid-size models. London Fashion Week was the most size-inclusive at 7% and Milan Fashion Week was the least at 0.2%. {Vogue Business}

Fashion journalist Lauren Sherman joins Puck
Beginning April 10, journalist (and former Fashionista editor) Lauren Sherman will join Puck and write a newsletter about the fashion industry. The announcement comes shortly after her exit from her long career at Business of Fashion. Her Puck newsletter will be released once a week, and eventually, increase to twice weekly. The newsletter will cover essential industry news but take on a different angle. “With all of our coverage areas, we want to focus on the inner strategies, anxieties and turmoil of the people who push the industry forward and to be unbeholden to any other obligation,” Puck editor-in-chief and cofounder Jon Kelly told WWD. {WWD}

The “businesswoman special” trend
For Elle, brands chime into the “businesswoman special” look — the trendy and modern way of dressing business casual. Hailey Bieber, Emma Chamberlain, Meghan Markle and Kendall Jenner are commonly spotted in overcoats, blazers and slouched trousers in lieu of flashier designs. Brands such as The Frankie Shop and Anine Bling have found a market in offering wardrobe staples with a contemporary edge. At its essence, the “businesswoman special” look is all about timelessness, effortlessness, minimalism and versatility. {Elle}

Indie beauty and wellness brands affected by the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank
The collapse of Silicon Valley Bank has had a domino effect across various industries, including beauty and wellness. Businesses such as The Flex Company and Veracity Selfcare were unable to access their accounts to extract money as news of SVB’s downfall made headlines. These businesses had to start immediate Go Fund Me campaigns and open accounts at other banks to help raise emergency cash and be able to cover payroll. The Federal Reserve did announce that “SVB deposits beyond the $250,000 federally insured cap will be guaranteed,” leaving emerging brands enough money to stay afloat while they come up with a new financial plan. {Beauty Independent}
