Celebrities are still lining up to support the fashion house as it undergoes a period of transformation between designers.
Quick word association test: Gucci? Sometimes, it’s gaudy and rebellious. Other times, it’s minimalist and laid-back. Through it all, though, the Italian brand has primarily stood for a refined, fearless cool. And regardless of who’s in charge creatively, its fashion show front rows tend leave us dreamy for a while.
The Fall 2023 roll call was another one for the books. A$AP Rocky wore an oversized pinstripe suit with silver-tipped shoes, rings and a “G” braided into his cornrows. Florence Welch went for a blue and ethereal gown. Sabrina Elba leaned into the workwear inspiration we saw on the runway, paired with a Jackie 1961 bag (which we suddenly want on our shoulder very badly).
Gucci is entering a new era, with Alessandro Michele recently departed and Sabato De Sarno showing his first collection for the brand this September. But this transitional front row gives us faith in the future: Gucci-philes still showed up to support, eager as ever, wearing a range of looks, from full suits to GG monograms to Jackies.
