BTSfashion ambassadorship roster is now complete: Jin has been named a face of Gucci, the brand announced on Wednesday.

“I am very excited to welcome Jin as Global Brand Ambassador,” Gucci’s Creative Director Sabato de Sarno said in a press statement. “His warm and kind personality is truly magnetic, and his style is simply unique. He is a generous and extraordinary artist who is able to move people with his music, which makes us even more honored to share this journey with him.”

The vocalist, who’s real name is Kim Seokjin, is the last of the seven members to sign on with a major luxury house, as he was enlisted in the South Korean military from December 2022 until June 2024. (He was the first to enter and complete mandatory 18-month service; J-Hope enlisted in April 2023, Suga in September 2023 and RM, V, Jimin and Jung Kook in December 2023. The group purposefully staggered their enlistments with the hopes of reuniting in 2025.)

While they were previously, as a collective, Louis Vuitton menswear ambassadors, in early 2023, the other six other members of BTS began inking their own deals with fashion brands, ahead of their own enlistments: RM (née Kim Namjoon) with Bottega Veneta, Suga (Min Yoongi) with Valentino, J-Hope (Jung Hoseok) with Louis Vuitton, Jimin (Park Jimin) with Dior, V (Kim Taehyung) with Celine and Jung Kook (Jung Jungkook) with Calvin Klein. The current status of these contracts is unclear.

Upon his discharge earlier this summer, though, brands wasted no time in getting on Jin’s radar. Fans circulated images of Gucci shopping bags outside the headquarters of his label, Hybe, in Seoul, speculating that they were gifts sent for Jin to celebrate his return. Naturally, that got people to pay close attention to any moves or interactions between the two — and put more weight on his full Gucci airport ‘fit from July 16 and on Sabato de Sarno seemingly following him on Instagram.

Within a few weeks of completing his military service, Jin had signed his first individual fashion contract, with the French jewelry house Fred. (Jimin is a face of Tiffany & Co., and V works with Cartier.)
