The 28 Best Beauty Products Fashionista Editors Tried in March

Each month, Fashionista editors try a *lot* of beauty products. And while not every formula we test is a winner, we’re constantly unearthing new favorites. Here, we’ve rounded up our latest hair, skin, fragrance, wellness and makeup discoveries — whether fresh-to-market drops or merely recent additions to our personal routines.

Springtime’s fluctuating temperatures and accompanying rain showers are sure to do a number on our skin barriers (not to mention our spirits), but we’re locked in on revamping our routines with the latest innovations in ultra-hydrating skin care and frizz-reducing hair care.

This month, hair care stood out as team Fashionista’s star category: We embraced a shine-enhancing pre-wash treatment, a high-tech fast-drying hair tool, a tea tree oil-spiked clarifying shampoo, tangle-resistant hair extensions and a featherlight air-dry lotion.

For our skin-care stashes, we went all in on hydration with an oil-free jelly moisturizer, a goat milk-infused balm and a milky emulsion packed with peptides and ceramides. We also added a buttery sea buckthorn oil-enhanced mineral sunscreen, a smooth jelly-like SPF stick and a blurring sunscreen straight from Australia to our growing list of sun-care favorites. As for our makeup must-haves, a donut-scented tinted lip serum and matte bronzing drops led this month’s discoveries.

Ahead, see (and shop!) all of our top makeup, skin-care, hair-care, fragrance and wellness finds from March.

Westman Atelier Sun Tone Hydrating Matte Bronzing Drops, $58, available here: “As a devoted facial sunscreen user, I’m always looking for easy ways to bring some color to my skin without self-tanner, which tends to break me out. This product is just what I needed: It’s non-greasy, lightweight and blendable, contains skin-care ingredients and can be used under or over makeup. (I’ve been mixing it with a skin tint or layering it over sunscreen for no-makeup days.) The word “bronzing” almost feels inaccurate because the tan, warm result is so natural, no one will think you’re wearing bronzer.” —Dhani Mau, Editor in Chief

Joico Defy Damage K Bond 20 Power Masque, $39, available here: “During a recent event to celebrate Joico’s 50th anniversary, I was reminded exactly why the brand is so beloved: Its products are legit. After a single 60-second treatment with this mask, my hair immediately felt far smoother, appeared glossier and my months-grown-out hair color seemed magically refreshed and intentional. I’ve been continuing to use it in place of conditioner, and the blend of amino acids, moringa seed oil, silicones and glycerin (among other smoothing agents) continues to wow me.” —Steph Saltzman, Beauty + Style Director

Laneige Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum in Cinnamon Sugar, $22, available here: “Laneige answered all of our prayers and finally launched color cosmetics with a tinted lip serum inspired by mouth-watering donut flavors. With a pillow-y, donut-shaped applicator, the tinted serum continues the K-beauty brand’s emphasis on hydration via polypeptide for visibly plumper lips, argan ceramides to boost the lip moisture barrier and polyglutamic acid (PGA) to retain moisture. I’m loving the shade Cinnamon Sugar, a glossy rosy mauve that leaves my lips feeling ultra smooth and smelling like I just left Krispy Kreme.” —Catie Pusateri, Contributing Writer

E.l.f. Skin Suntouchable Invisi-Stick SPF 50, $14, available here: “Sunscreen is one of those things that has always come with a sensory issue for me: Lotions are too gooey, sprays are too sticky and so on. I was recently introduced to this stick version on a ski trip with the brand, and my mind was blown. The solid balm’s stick form makes it easy to swipe over my face (regular skin-care routine already applied), lightly tap it in, then, boom — done. It feels like absolutely nothing on the skin and (don’t try this at home, but) it’s so smooth and easy to apply, I even did so while going down the slopes.” —Brooke Frischer, Staff Writer + Social Media Manager

Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Concealer, $38, available here: “Not to sound dramatic, but this is truly the Superman of all the concealers I own. I love that its lightweight, crease-free formula blends seamlessly and offers a smooth, skin-like finish that means I don’t even need foundation most days. Its thin, micro-tip applicator allows me to hit all those hard-to-reach facial spots with the utmost precision, not to mention its 24-hour wear lets me spend the day out and about without a need for touch-ups.” —Janelle Sessoms, Staff Writer

Leonor Greyl Complexe Énergisant, $95, available here: “I’ve been trying all types of hair growth products lately — mostly to fight off the natural recession happening along my hairline — and this has become one of my favorites. I really enjoy that the formula is water-like, meaning it leaves no residue nor scent. I spray it along my scalp and hairline to flatten flyaways or style a slicked-back look. It doesn’t clog pores or cause breakouts on my forehead, and although I can’t directly credit just one product because I use a few, I definitely have new hair growth coming in.” —Savannah Sitton, Market + Branded Content Editor

Dedcool Mochi Milk Eau de Parfum, $90, available here: “I’ve long been a fan of Dedcool’s Milk fragrance, and I’m not the only one, given that it’s a mega bestseller. This new, spring-y take on it is accented with gourmand notes of marshmallow, vanilla bean, and sweet rice milk — yet it’s still airy and light, not at all sugary or cloying in the way you might assume.” —Steph

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Jelly Moisturizer, $50, available here: “As an acne-prone adult, I’ve tried nearly every oil-free moisturizer, and this is one of very few I’ve been excited about. (Most either do next to nothing to curb congestion and oiliness, or simply mattify the skin without providing real hydration.) It has the most immediately satisfying jelly texture and cooling effect, akin to aloe vera gel, which it contains alongside a 30% Hyaluronic Acid Complex, which my skin immediately drinks up. For the rest of the day, my face just feels calm, balanced and noticeably shine-free. I wouldn’t recommend it for truly dry skin (or those who want a glazed-donut appearance), but there’s nothing I’d feel more confident using in summer humidity (which really tends to throw my skin out of whack).” —Dhani

Good Weather Skin The One Daily Sun Cream SPF 30, $48 $41, available here: “I’m extremely picky about my sunscreen, so when I find an impressive formula, I shout it from the rooftops. Good Weather Skin just debuted this month with its The One Daily Sun Cream, a mineral SPF 30 formula with a dewy, buttery finish and no white cast. It’s packed with skin-care ingredients, including non-nano zinc, squalane, peptides and niacinamide, as well as sea buckthorn oil, which provides the sunscreen’s butter yellow hue. Not only does this hydrating formula deliver long-lasting moisture, but it also looks great underneath makeup with no unwanted pilling.” —Catie

Lumineux Whitening Mouthwash, $8, available here: “This mouthwash from Lumineux, which is known for its ‘non-toxic’ oral-care products, is perhaps the first one I’ve ever gotten myself to use regularly. Unlike with typical mouthwashes, I experience zero stinging or tooth sensitivity, and instead of harsh chemicals like alcohol and peroxide, it uses ingredients like sea salt, coconut oil, lemon peel and aloe vera to provide minerals, balance the oral microbiome and, as a major bonus, whiten teeth. It may not be as rapidly effective as strips (which the brand also makes), but I can definitely see a reduction in staining from the daily coffees and occasional glasses of red wine that are part of my diet. And my own dentist can actually confirm that my teeth are healthier since I started using it.” —Dhani

Prequel Half & Half Peptides + Ceramides Fluid Moisturizer, $26, available here: “Though I have to be cautious about what skin-care products I introduce into my highly curated routine, lest a new formula disrupt my reactive skin, Prequel has never led me astray thanks to its dermatologist-developed creations. Its new fluid moisturizer is packed with a ceramide complex to strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier, a peptide complex to improve the look of fine lines and an amino acid blend to add a plumping effect. With a slightly dewy finish, the milky emulsion is incredibly lightweight and quickly absorbs into the skin, instantly adding a refreshing burst of hydration. It also checks many of my sensitive-skin boxes: It’s fragrance free, hypoallergenic, allergy tested and safe for eczema-prone skin. Just shake the bottle lightly when doling out the liquid-y product to avoid a spilled milk fiasco.” —Catie

Van Cleef & Arpels Musc de Soie Eau de Parfum, $285, available here: “When I think of a ‘musky’ fragrance, I typically associate that with a stronger, more intense scent. This perfume, though, subverts that presumption with its much-appreciated subtleness. With notes like neroli, iris and white musks, I can certainly smell the musk — and a hint of floral — upon immediately spritzing. But it rather quickly settles into a light and delicate aroma that lingers close to the body, but doesn’t overpower my nose or any room I walk into.” —Janelle

Shark CryoGlow Infrared iQLED Face Mask, $350, available here: “I’ve tried many an LED device in my day, but this advanced, high-tech mask has become my new daily go-to. It offers settings for improving fine lines and reducing breakouts, tracks the number of treatments you do and has a strap system that holds the device in place without tugging at your skin. Plus, the ‘cryo’ cooling undereye pads feel heavenly on my always-tired eyes.” —Steph

Fenty Treatz Hydrating + Strengthening Lip Oil, $24, available here: “Aside from the fact I’ve attached it to my purse as a bag charm, I adore Fenty Beauty’s lip oil for its hydrating properties and plumping effect. Where some of my lip oils can be thick and sticky, this one is pleasantly lightweight, to the point I sometimes forget I have it on to begin with. I habitually apply it as a final layer after blending on my lip liner. Oh, and did I mention it smells like cherries?” —Janelle

Irresistible Me Invisible Clip-In Hair Extensions 20″ Extra Volume, $480 $240, available here: “I don’t wear extensions regularly, just for events and special occasions. This set lives up to its name with an ultra-lightweight design that makes the ‘invisible’ clip-ins comfortable to wear for long stretches of time. The weft is camouflaged and discreet, so that even if the track was visible, it still looks like my real hair, since the metal clips are hidden snugly beneath the hair.” —Savannah

Ultra Violette Velvet Screen SPF 50, $36, available here: “We haven’t even really gotten into spring yet, but I already know this is going to be my must-have product for summer 2025. After months of anticipation, Australian SPF brand Ultra Violette finally brought its beloved formulas stateside, and while many of its products are hits, this lightweight mineral face sunscreen is my number one. It packs antioxidants, moisturizers and mineral-based UVA and UVB protection (SPF 50!) into a weightless, blurring, skin perfecting formula that feels pretty much undetectable once it’s on.” —Steph

Dyson Supersonic r Hair Dryer, $570, available here: “Ever since Dyson first unveiled this ultra-lightweight, ‘r’-shaped blow dryer for pros, I’ve been waiting for the brand to introduce a consumer version. Well, that moment is finally here, and my hair (and comically weak arms) couldn’t be more grateful. This dryer makes styling my hair ridiculously quick — I’m talking five minutes to go from towel-dried to fully dry — and the flyaway taming attachment is a game changer for my fine hair’s breakage and regrowth wisps.” —Steph

Squigs Gooseberry Delight Hair Oil, $34, available here: “Ever since transitioning to natural hair, I’ve been a big fan of pre-wash oils as an easy extra treatment step to enhance shine, strength and scalp health without weighing my hair down (since it gets washed out). Indian communities have been hair oiling for centuries, which the brand Squigs understands as its products are rooted in traditional Ayurvedic practices. It uses Amla extract, which has antibacterial properties and is also believed to promote hair growth, alongside other naturally derived oils for a lightweight, softening effect that’s now a consistent part of my wash-day routine.” —Dhani

Augustinus Bader The Hydrogel Face Mask, 6-Pack, $180, available here: “One thing about me: I love a sheet mask. This new launch from Augustinus Bader takes my obsession to the next level. Rather than a thin paper sheet, it’s a thick hydrogel material that immediately seeps its collagen-boosting and softening ingredients (like the brand’s trademarked ‘Trigger Factor Complex™,’ firming copper peptides and soothing allantoin) into skin. I especially love using it pre-makeup routine for added glow.” —Brooke

IGK Deep Repair Air Dry Styler, $38, available here: “Air-dry season is nearly upon us, which for me, means struggling to coax my puffy, flyaway-prone fine hair into a wavy Olsen-like texture that’s neither weighed down with product nor cotton candy-like and fluffy. It’s a delicate balance, but this superlight leave-in styler is giving me hope. The thin, milky lotion (temporarily) seals split ends and tamps down flyaways, lends control and imparts shine. It can be used on any hair texture, and also contains moisturizers and antioxidants to treat strands with some R&R while you’re giving them a break from heat styling.” —Steph

Tarte Maracuja Juicy Melt Mask, $27, available here: “This overnight lip mask and gloss hybrid may be small, but she’s quite mighty. It’s like a cozy blanket for my lips: Formulated with shea butter and vitamin C, it keeps lips smooth, moisturized and protected. I’ve been using it as an overnight treatment, but it also works wonders as a daytime layer.” —Janelle

Kosas Cloud Set Airy Setting + Smoothing Mist, $36, available here: “Kosas’ Cloud Set line refined the art of locking makeup in place without sacrificing a radiant finish, and now the skin-care-infused makeup brand upgraded its base routine with a featherlight setting spray. The refreshing, fine mist secures makeup while subtly smoothing out unwanted texture without leaving my face feeling tight. With Kosas’ emphasis on using skin-care ingredients, the mist features agave tequilana leaf and fruit extracts to blur the appearance of texture, saccharide isomerate to reduce shine and trehalose to support hydration. While it successfully locks my makeup in place (the brand notes it lasts for 12 hours), the mist’s skin-smoothing properties have made it my go-to finishing touch.” —Catie

Ozlo Sleepbuds, $299 $279, available here: “I’ve developed a bit of a hyperfixation on sleeping well (blame it on the Oura Ring), and have resultantly amassed a small collection of supplements and other products to support that goal. My new favorite is these sleepbuds, which honestly surpassed my expectations with their fancy charging case, Bluetooth capabilities, calming built-in sounds, biometric sensors, personal alarm feature and ability to block my boyfriend’s snoring. But the best and most important quality: comfort. I can barely feel them in my ears, and they’re small and low-profile enough to accommodate side-sleeping without any poking or falling out overnight.” —Dhani

Tower 28 GetSet Blur + Set Matte Powder Blush, $22, available here: “It’s been a while since a powder blush has worked its way into my makeup rotation, but Tower 28’s dermatologist-approved dual blush and setting powder has shaken up my usual ultra-dewy liquid rouges. Its soft matte finish blurs the appearance of pores and holds up against sweat (no disappearing blush here!). Formulated with kaolin clay to control shine, squalane to boost hydration and hydrophobic silica for sweat resistance, this matte blush boasts a 12-hour fade-proof wear. It comes in six summertime shades, my favorite being Long Beach Iced Tea, a subtle peachy pink.” —Catie

Jooy Clarify Shampoo, $29, available here: “This shampoo is excellent at removing any type of gunk or hair product (like dried hair gel or black box dye, for example) easily. It lathers lusciously and quickly, but the best part is that it clarifies hair — using a tingly blend of peppermint oil, tea tree oil and fermented apple cider vinegar — without stripping the strands of ‘good’ oils. After rinsing, my scalp and strands feel clean, but not dried out. A little goes a long way, too.” —Savannah

Dionis Goat Milk Beauty Balm, $17, available here: “Goat milk has become a buzzy beauty ingredient because its pH level is on par with that of human skin, it’s rich in natural fatty acids and also contains vitamins A and E. This multi-purpose stick is my favorite way to use it: In addition to being spiked with goat milk, it also relies on shea butter, avocado oil and coconut oil for intense moisture. I use it on my dry skin and lips, as well as to tamp down flyaway hairs.” —Savannah

Les Eaux Primordiales Mini Eau de Parfum Discovery Set, $55 $47, available here: “I went to a preview for this French fragrance brand that recently made its U.S. debut. I’m not exaggerating when I say, every single scent was unlike anything I’ve ever smelled in my life — perfume or otherwise. Each one has a unique story, as told by the founder and parfumer Arnaud Poulain. By the time the preview was over, the brand very graciously offered me my choice of a full-sized bottle. Though I ended up going with a perfume Poulain told me was inspired by ‘gentlemen’s clubs in Paris’ with light notes of cigar smoke (a pick I surprised myself with), I was mostly excited to be sent home with this discovery set, given how unique and layered every fragrance is.” —Brooke

Delphine x Barrière Survival Sticker Kit, Gift With Purchase, available here: Transdermal health and wellness products are on the rise, and this adorable collab features three stickers that the brand claims distribute certain vitamins and supplements via skin absorption. I can’t say for sure if the tiny stickers really deliver the vitamin benefits they promise, but the placebo may have been enough for me, and the designs are cute enough to keep using. This limited edition kit, which is is available as a gift with every purchase on Delphine’s website, can also be bought individually on Barrière’s website in the brand’s full range.” —Savannah

In case you missed last month’s picks, you can find them here:

Shani Darden Rescue Serum, $68, available here: “Shani Darden is one of the skin-care brands I trust the most: If the celebrity esthetician-founder releases a new product, I can reasonably expect that my (mid-30s, acne- and hyperpigmentation-prone) skin will, at a minimum, respond well, and likely also see real results. The brand’s new multi-purpose Rescue Serum (spiked with azelaic acid alongside soothing, anti-inflammatory and hydrating ingredients) is an example of the latter: I’ve literally seen it destroy pimples and redness overnight, and with continued use, it’s helped to reduce texture, fade post-acne marks and calm my skin overall, to the point that it feels less acne-prone to begin with. It’s officially a staple in my routine (and Steph’s).” —Dhani Mau, Editor in Chief
