Dara Found the Prettiest Balconette Bra to Wear Under All Her Cozy Cardigans

I can’t resist a vintage-inspired undergarment.

Aside from fleece jackets, cozy cardigans and the fact that it becomes more socially acceptable to stay in and watch Netlix on a Saturday night, there aren’t many things I like about winter. To put it simply, wind chill does not thrill me; nor does any temperature under 70 degrees. But in an effort to stay positive during a season that is often gray and dreary, I’m trying to find new things to appreciate during the colder months. This rainy week, I’ve discovered the beauty in wearing pretty undergarments with knitwear.

I love lace underwire bras and silk bralettes, and have quite a few of them, but I don’t wear them much in the summer. The reason being, it is hot and I’d rather go bra-less than have my skin stick to another layer of fabric. Lately, the temperature has dropped, forcing me to break into my sweater collection, and as a result, I’ve paid many more visits to my intimates drawer. I have number of great options from brands like Eberjey, Araks and Fleur du Mal, but one of my most attractive and most comfortable bras is by Lonely, so naturally I want another.

The New Zealand-based label has an impressive range of vintage-inspired lingerie, but right now, I’m coveting a cream-colored balconette-style bra that comes in a supremely comfortable stretch mesh and features a floral lace panel insert. And with two elastic straps that extend from the cup to the shoulder, it’s both pretty and supportive.
