I’ve tried a whole lot of blow-dryer brushes in my decade-plus as a beauty editor. I’ve tested ultra-expensive, multi-attachment tools that claim to be the best of the best. I’ve used ones with bells and whistles and ceramic coatings that pro hairstylists recommend in spades. And yet, it’s one of the least expensive, least flashy blow-dryer-round-brush hybrids that has kept me coming back.

The Tyme BlowBrush completely changed my hair routine for the better, despite the fact that you’ve probably never heard of it. It completely dries my fine hair in about 10 minutes flat if it’s dripping wet, 5 minutes if it’s 80% of the way air-dried (my preferred method). The shape of the oversized round brush head creates plenty of body — especially if you focus it at the roots and pull upwards through the hair — and makes pro-level styling shockingly simple. (The weird, mid-grow-out layers near my face have never looked less accidental.)

The tool has three speed settings, but other than that, it’s pretty minimalist — no cool shot or fancy alternative attachments here. It does, however, use ceramic and ionic technology, meaning it evenly dries hair without getting too hot and helps to seal in shine and smoothness, respectively. I definitely notice my hair is shinier, as well as bouncier and more likely to hold its style, after I use it.

Then, there’s the real draw: It’s inexpensive — like, truly accessibly inexpensive. While most quality blow-dryer brushes can run upwards of $200, this one clocks in at $89 regularly. And it’s currently on sale for an even more modest $62.

I’m so obsessed, I haven’t touched my Dyson in weeks.
