For London Fashion Week’s Fall 2024 season, designers continually championed thoughtful beauty looks on the runway. Many of the standout examples were a careful exercise in either adornment or restraint.
In the best hair looks, designers like Ahluwalia and Srvc toyed with embellishment in the form of maximalist florals and big headbands, respectively. Some revealed hair sculpted and smoothed down, whether as in finger waves at Tolu Coker or plastered bangs at Di Petsa and Simone Rocha.
On the makeup front, many designers chose to play with color to complement their collections: Models at Chet Lo wore silver tears, while Conner Ives’ sported bright yellow lash extensions on a background of light blue eye shadow. Erdem, on the other hand, explored the power of graphic eyeliner. But easily the buzziest makeup look to come out of London this season appeared on Simone Rocha‘s runway, for which makeup artist Thomas de Kluyver transformed models’ brows into artful rose branches.
