It was a rollercoaster of a year for the fashion industry, with breaking news interspersed with brands aiming to one-up each other with their buzzworthy celebrity ad campaigns.
Kim Kardashian’s Skims went viral (again, and again) by casting the likes of Nicola Coughlan, Lana Del Rey and Sabrina Carpenter; Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny immortalized their short-lived romance by starring together, separately for Gucci; and Rihanna’s kids RZA and Riot Rose landed their first ad spot alongside dad A$AP Rocky courtesy of Bottega Veneta.
Other campaigns celebrated special brand moments: Marc Jacobs honored its 40th anniversary with the help of famous friends like FKA Twigs, Balenciaga reintroduced its “Le City” bag with an ongoing rollout of star-studded images and Addison Rae fronted the relaunch of Petra Collins’ brand, I’m Sorry.
