On Monday, the 2024 awards season continued on with the 75th Annual Emmy Awards — which, despite falling in Jan. 2024, were actually the 2023 Emmys, having been postponed during the WGA and SAG strikes in the fall.
The event drew plenty of big-name celebrities from all your favorite shows (and made us long for a new season of “The White Lotus” immediately), who showed up in an eclectic mix of looks and color palettes. On the beauty front, bows, ponytails and bold lip colors reigned supreme.
Tracee Ellis Ross combined the latter two trends, pairing crimson lipstick and a sleek high ponytail, while Selena Gomez wore a burgundy-tinged-brown lip color that matched her sparkly gown. Other standout hair and makeup moments included Aubrey Plaza and Riley Keough‘s half-up hairstyles, Christina Ricci’s smolder-y smoky eyes, Simona Tabasco’s raspberry lip and Ariana DeBose and Rachel Brosnahan‘s sleek center parts.
