London Fashion Week street style is often slightly punk, heavy on the layers and highly eclectic — as was certainly the case for the Fall 2025 season. And while many of the trends we spotted on showgoers echoed those we’d seen in New York (furs, pops of red and neckties all made appearances), it was a different means of accessorizing that really captured our attention across the pond: socks.
The London street style crowd really had fun with their hosiery this season, using it to add personality and quirk to all manner of outfits. We saw attendees wearing patterned knee socks, flouncy ruffled ankle socks and sporty tube socks. But tights — bright red! polka dot! fishnet! — also had a major moment, as did several instances of slouchy leg warmers.
Even more interesting, showgoers wore these socks, tights and leg warmers with a wide variety of footwear, transforming fisherman sandals, Mary Janes and pointy-toe pumps into perfectly practical cold-weather shoes. They also used them to dress up sneakers and combat boots and to level up simple flats.
