Virgil Abloh and the Louvre collaborate on special exhibition
Off-White‘s Virgil Abloh revealed yet another special collaboration — this time, with the Louvre in Paris, in celebration of the museum’s upcoming Leonardo da Vinci exhibition, which opens on Feb. 24. Off-White will release a capsule collection on the 500th anniversary of Da Vinci’s death, which will include T-shirts and hoodies with the brand’s typical markings and some of the artist’s paintings. It’ll be sold in the Louvre gift shop and online via off–white.com and farfetch.com, with prices ranging from $355 to $640. {Louvre}

How Amazon’s fashion business is expanding—with influencers
This year, Amazon has called on influencers to help build out its fashion business, to compete with retailers already collaborating with social media stars on capsule collections. Over the summer, the company introduced The Drop, which invites influencers to design limited-edition pieces that their fans can shop exclusively on Amazon. The collections, which normally consist of nine to 13 items, are rolled out every two to three weeks, and are only available to purchase for 30 hours — or until they sell out. {Glossy}

C-suite changes for Balmain and Kate Spade
Jean-Jacques Guével is saying ‘goodbye’ to Zadig & Voltaire and ‘hello’ to Balmain: The executive was announced as the French brand’s new CEO, following Massimo Piombini’s exit earlier this month. Meanwhile, in New York, Kate Spade New York announced that CEO Anna Bakst would be leaving the company after joining in 2018; Joanne Crevoiserat, chief financial officer at Tapestry, will lead the brand while a replacement is found. {Fashionista Inbox & WWD}

Watch out west coast, the Tom Ford show is coming to town! On Feb. 7— two nights before the Oscars — the designer will debut his Fall 2020 collection in L.A. “The decision to show in February in Los Angeles feels very natural to me. It is my home and has a strong impact on the way that I live and work within both the fashion and film worlds,” said Ford, who’s the chairman of the CDFA. {WWD}

Chanel opens pop-up inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s apartment
If you’ve ever wanted to see inside Gabrielle Chanel‘s iconic apartment at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris, consider visiting Chanel‘s new ephemeral boutique in Aspen, which opens today. The pop-up, which was inspired by the designer’s actual apartment, will feature a curated selection of items from the Fall 2020 alpine-inspired collection, as well as a capsule of the Cruise 2020 collection, Virginie Viard’s first ready-to-wear collection as Artistic Director. {Fashionista Inbox}
