Macy’s to develop TV series about women in retail
Macy’s is looking to build upon its already massive presence within American television. On top of its Fourth of July and Thanksgiving Day Parade special programming, the department store has now acquired an option to develop a scripted series based on the book “When Women Ran Fifth Avenue: Glamour and Power at the Dawn of American Fashion” by Julie Satow. The deal is led by Macy’s chief marketing officer Sharon Otterman, who is currently seeking a showrunner and a cast for the series. {Macy’s}
Sir John appointed Creative Director of Medicube
Makeup artist Sir John, whose clients include Beyoncé, Zendaya and Serena Williams, has been appointed creative director and ambassador of Korean skin-care brand Medicube. “[Medicube’s sculpting face tool is] like a gua sha on steroids. It snatches me back to 2002,” said the artist in a press release. Kim Byung-hoon, chief executive officer of the brand, also commented, “[Sir John] understands the power of professional skin care and how access to clinical-grade technology at home can revolutionize the way people care for their skin. With his global influence and unmatched artistry, he will help us bridge the gap between high-performance skin care and the everyday beauty routines of consumers around the world.” {PR Newswire}
WHP Global offers to take Guess Private
WHP Global — a licensing specialist that previously partnered with Guess to purchase Rag & Bone in 2024 — has proposed an offer to buy the remaining shares of Guess Inc. that are not owned by co-founders Paul and Maurice Marciano and chief executive officer Carlos Alberini. Should this deal go through, WHP would become a minority partner and take the company private. In a press release, Guess Inc. said, “There is no guarantee that any definitive offer will be made” and that the company “does not intend to comment further on this matter until” the directors of the Board (otherwise known as the “Special Committee” has completed its evaluation of the proposal. {Guess Inc.}
‘White Lotus’ star Michelle Monaghan is the first celebrity face of U Beauty

Michelle Monaghan, one of the breakout stars of the latest “White Lotus” season, has signed a beauty contract with U Beauty, becoming the skin-care brand’s first celebrity ambassador. In a statement, co-founder Tina Chen Craig said, “[Monaghan] is an actor who deeply understands the importance of health, the complex science of simplicity, and the value of living in the moment. Fashion has learned to love ‘The Real Housewives’
Brands are taking note of the leading ladies’ of Bravo’s impact on brand awareness and engagement. Throughout the Fall 2025 fashion week season, several members of Bravo’s “Real Housewives” franchise made high-profile appearances at events. At an Edie Parker cocktail, “Real Housewives of New York” star Luann de Lesseps gave a cabaret performance, with the brand telling Business of Fashion it received some of its “best press” from the evening and that the social impressions were “insane.” At major runway shows, stars from different cities — like Bronwyn Newport of Salt Lake City and Ubah Hassan of New York — sat front row. “You have ‘Housewives’ fans at the highest echelons of culture, media and fashion, so at some point people realise, ‘We want the ladies here,'” said journalist Brian Moylan. “The Housewives really move product.” {Business of Fashion}
