Karol G covers Elle June/July 2023 Music issue
Covering Elle‘s June/July 2023 Music issue in Luar, Karol G speaks to Chantal Fernandez about the moment she knew she wanted to become a singer, her experience collaborating with Shakira and how supportive her parents have been throughout her career. When emphasizing the importance of protecting her peace, the Colombian singer said, “As time goes on, I share less on social media […] Before, I was being too accessible. There are things that I can save for myself and enjoy without anyone’s opinions. If I’m not on social media, I’m more focused on me, my things, my work, my ideas, my creativity. That, right now, is gold.” {Elle}

Halle Bailey covers Glamour May 2023
For Glamour’s latest global cover, Halle Bailey was photographed by AB + DM and styled by Justin Hamilton in Marc Jacobs. For the cover story, she talks to Leah Faye Cooper about her joy in seeing young Black girls react to a Black woman playing Princess Ariel, the importance of including red locs as part of her character and filming for the upcoming musical film adaptation of “The Color Purple.” Thinking about not letting the public attention get the best of her, Bailey said, “Mentally, sometimes it’s really difficult being in this industry knowing that there are so many opinions [about] you and what you’re doing, or what you should be or what you could be doing better. People sometimes put you on this pedestal. They forget that you’re a real human being. They forget that you have feelings, that you cry.” {Glamour}

Brands are quietly exiting the Fashion Pact
In 2019, the chief executives of some of the most influential brands in the fashion industry came together to create the Faction Pact — a sustainable initiative working to reduce pollution and better contribute to low-impact commitments. Four years later, high-profile luxury members such as Stella McCartney and Selfridges have left (for reasons unknown), with limited action accomplished by the Fashion Pact thus far. However, having spent the last few years laying groundwork, the group believes signs of positive impact will emerge over time. “Over the next few years, [the Fashion Pact] has the potential to be game-changing. I truly, truly hope and think it is possible that this large coalition will be able to show really big steps when it comes to the climate agenda,” Helena Helmersson, H&M Group CEO and incoming Fashion Pact co-chair, told Business of Fashion. {Business of Fashion/paywalled}
