Mixed Prints Were a Street Style Favorite on Day 6 of New York Fashion Week

Who said clothes need to match?
The final day of New York Fashion Week arrived on Wednesday, and showgoers celebrated the end of nonstop Spring 2020 shows with a sartorial bang: by clashing and mixing their favorite prints. Who said clothes need to match anyway?
While the idea of mismatched styles sounds intimidating, there is of a method to this getting-dressed madness. We noticed that the street style crowd made sure the prints were at least a little bit cohesive, like pairing two pieces in different colors, but both boasting the same print (see: zebra stripes), or teaming similar-but-not-the-same checkerboard prints. We first spotted this trend at Tokyo Fashion Week back in March, so it was only a matter of time until it trickled on over to New York City. As we approach the rest of fashion month across the Atlantic, we’re curious to see if the fashion crowd in London, Milan and Paris will take notice, too.
