It’s impossible to go a full Valentine’s Day without seeing some quote about how “girls just want flowers” or “girls deserve flowers” pasted on the background of a sunset gradient. And while flowers are always a sweet and welcomed surprise, there’s a different floral arrangement I’ve had my eye on this month: the Brandon Blackwood Bouquet Clutch.

Inspired by a real-life cluster of red roses wrapped up in paper, the accessories designer made a genuine leather version of the symbolic romantic gesture in two colorways: red roses with a natural leaf-green wrapping and red roses with a flamingo-pink wrapping.

Not only does the bag look absolutely adorable and spruce up any outfit, but it’s also completely functional. The entire cone-shaped base has room for deep storage, with a hidden gold zipper lying just beneath the rim of the roses. The bag is also lightweight — as easy to carry as any bunch of authentic flowers. It also fits perfectly underneath the arm of its wearer.

The brand very kindly loaned me the bag for the duration of New York Fashion Week, and I’ve never gotten more compliments on something. Though it sold out almost immediately upon release this year, the brand is re-launching the style for pre-order due to popular demand. So if you missed out on gifting someone (or yourself) fresh-cut stems this Valentine’s Day, this long-lasting leather option is the perfect make-up gift.
