The actress and master of classic style opted for a red lip, white dress combo at the premiere of her new TV series.
Few modern-day celebrities are able to pull off Old Hollywood glamour — and make it feel fresh, rather than costumey or cheesy — as effortlessly as Michelle Williams. On Monday evening at the New York City premiere of her new series, “Fosse/Verdon,” she did just that in a drapey white gown and precise red lip.
The look, put together by Williams’s longtime stylist Kate Young, centered on a floor-length gown by Louis Vuitton (for which the actress is a brand ambassador). With delicate silver beading at the neckline and waist, as well as soft pleating over the bodice and skirt, it needed little additional embellishment — which was clearly Young’s approach, given that she skipped jewelry and accessories altogether.
Williams’s makeup look, which included flushed pink cheeks and a vibrant red lip, was the handiwork of Angela Levin, who posted about the specific products she used on Instagram. (Thanks, Angela!) According to Levin, that rich poppy lip color comes courtesy of Dior Addict Stellar Shine Lipstick in Positivity, should you wish to copy it for yourself. Meanwhile, hair master Chris McMillan gave Williams a neat, shiny blowout with a piece-y definition at the bangs, showing off her signature cropped cut.
