Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world’s eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We’ll be following the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column, “Meghan Markle Wore a Thing.”
By now, it’s clear Meghan Markle has a fashion modus operandi: She likes to keep it simple and chic. The Duchess of Sussex hardly strays from neutral color palettes, reaches for streamlined silhouettes, and never succumbs to over-styling.
Her appearance on Wednesday night was no different: She attended the Paley Honors Fall Gala in Los Angeles — an annual celebration honoring creatives in media — donning a black, strapless Oscar de la Renta gown. Styled by Jamie Mizrahi, the refined number features a sweetheart neckline, front slit and long, flowing train. Her black, minimalist strappy heels matched the vibe. (There are conflicting reports on their ID: Some say they’re Stuart Weitzman, others Celine.)

She completed the look with a diamond Logan Hollowell tennis necklace and Cartier’s gold Love bracelet.
Markle’s attended the Gala in support of her friend — and godfather to her daughter, Princess Lilibet — Tyler Perry. He received the 2024 Paley Honors Award, the night’s highest accolade.
