Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling Are Gonna Be Wearing a Lot of Pink This Year, Huh?

The “Barbie” stars kicked off the buzzy film’s promotional tour at CinemaCon.

For an appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling dipped into Barbie and Ken’s closets for a very pink promo of their upcoming film, “Barbie.”

The two stars complimented each other with various hues of pink and subtle nods to the highly-anticipated movie while suggesting that this is just the beginning of a very Barbiecore press tour.

Styled by Andrew Mukamal, Robbie wore a gingham checked bralette top with a black scalloped ribbon draped across the top and a matching mini skirt, both from Prada. The set, as described on the Prada website, was inspired by the aesthetics of vintage Tyrolean clothing in addition to a “retro mood.” On her feet were a pair of matching pink Christian Louboutin high-heel mules with a plastic-like appearance thanks to the patent leather.

The look also seems to be a direct reference to an outfit worn by Robbie in the film. In the second official trailer for “Barbie,” the titular character can be seen in a pink gingham wide-brimmed hat paired with a matching mini dress — also featuring a scalloped detail at the hem.

As for Gosling, the actor took the sentiment of “He’s just Ken” seriously, opting for simple black jeans paired with a white graphic T-shirt — and not just any T-shirt, but an homage to the film’s director that reads, “From Director Greta Gerwig” across the front in the unmistakable Barbie font. (This exact shirt’s provenance is unknown, but the original design comes from Super Yaki and is available to purchase for $35.) To top it all off, Gosling wore a faded fuchsia pink bomber jacket from Acne Studios.

Though we have to wait a few more months for the film to finally hit theaters, it’s clear this press tour will keep us fed until then with plenty of “Ken-ergy” by way of Mattel-inspired fashion.
