Great Outfits in Fashion History: Kim Kardashian in a Sweet White Sundress

Let’s go back to her sartorial roots.

There are perfectly good celebrity style moments, and then there are the looks that really stick with you, the ones you try desperately to recreate at home. In ‘Great Outfits in Fashion History,’ Fashionista editors are revisiting their all-time favorite lewks.

To say Kim Kardashian‘s style has evolved a lot over the years would be an understatement.

When she first started appearing in tabloids and on television, she was all about looking sexy, all the time — with tight dresses, platform stilettos, tons of flashy jewelry. But she also had a sweeter, more feminine side, which stands in stark contrast with the edgier, custom-made pieces she prefers today.

The above look is a testament to this. In 2006, Kardashian accompanied then-bestie (and former boss) Paris Hilton to the premiere of “Entourage” in Hollywood. She wore a white wrap-around sundress, secured at the hip with a bow. The eyelet material imbued the look with a softness that offset the sexiness of the plunging neckline. She accessorized with what appears to be a white Fendi baguette and Christian Louboutin Formentera espadrille wedges.

While she’s since been upgraded from plus one to style icon, Kardashian’s early style felt more approachable, in many ways. Shop dresses inspired by her 2000s wardrobe, below.
