8 'Alien Superstar'-Worthy Outfit Ideas to Wear to Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour

Earlier this month, Beyoncé began her highly-anticipated Renaissance World Tour in Europe. “Renaissance” changed the cultural landscape, platforming ballroom culture and acknowledging cultural influences rooted in the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. Her on-stage performances have been equally as epic, according to the spoilers coming out of Twitter and live streams, her costumes increasing the hype tenfold as Queen Mother pulls out all the stops on the fashion front. (She’s one of one, after all.)

So far, Beyoncé has pulled out custom looks from Alexander McQueen, Loewe and Balmain, with many more sure to come. This, in turn, has left many of us in a frenzy, wanting to give Bey the same level of “Alien Superstar”-worthy fashion that she has graciously bestowed upon us. While not all of the Beyhive may be able to don haute couture as we shake our hips to “Break My Soul,” there are still plenty of ways to bow down to “Renaissance” through our concert outfits. In anticipation of the tour arriving stateside in July, we’ve compiled eight ideas inspired by the album, below.

If you’re an Alien Superstar

Unique: That’s what you are. For all the alien superstars, metallics, sequins and anything Western will be your uniform — think: futuristic cowgirl. While rhinestoned shorts and cowboy boots are our go-tos, sequined chaps and fringe jackets also give “too classy for this world” energy. To top these off, try a bedazzled disco cowboy hat (inspired by the one Queen Bey wore on the promotional tour poster).

If you’re a Church Girl

You’re here to “drop it like a thottie,” and that calls for thottie-friendly attire: leather shorts, corsets, comfortable (but still cute) shoes. Feel free to add a witty touch with a cross necklace, and you’ll be a “church girl acting loose” in no time. (Nobody can judge you — you were born free.)

If you’re Thique

One look at your outfit, and there’s only one phrase that comes to mind: “That’s that thique.” Any figure-hugging garment — like a catsuit or bodycon dress — works. Complement the ensemble with pops of white, and you’ll officially be concert-ready.

If you’re giving Energy

Look around it’s you and your crew: big energy. There’s no better way to show up and show out for “Renaissance” than to be extra. The song itself gives you everything you need if you want to dress with good energy — i.e. gold links and raw denim. A dark-denim dress paired with sleek boots might give more Cancun than St. Tropez, but the look still checks off all the boxes for a Bey concert look.

If you’re feeling Cozy

At the end of the day, it’s all about being comfortable in your own skin — cozy with who you are. We suggest taking a literal approach in comfortable jeans and a bodysuit. For a subtle statement, try adding a pop of color with your bag.

If you’re That Girl

It’s not the diamonds, it’s not the pearls — you’re just that girl. No matter what you wear, you pull up in your clothes and you know you look good. With that, there’s nothing that will have all eyes on you like a plunging corset and statement Brandon Blackwood boots. Leather pants and gold jewelry provide the perfect low-key balance.

If you’re Pure/Honey

Circling back to that space cowgirl aesthetic, channel less Western and more futurism with a metallic mini dress. As for the accessories, you “can take it all off or just a little if you’d like” with sequin-adorned opera gloves and/or gold bee studs.

For those in the midst of a summer renaissance, going bold and celebratory is the move. This vibrant mini will make you want to dance and have you feeling oh-so-good. It may not be haute couture you’re flaunting, but it’s still elegant and raunchy.
