TWP's Trish Wescoat Pound Wants to Make Clothes Women Love Wearing

After four years in business and landing on the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)’s official New York Fashion Week calendar just last season, TWP has already established itself as a force to be reckoned with in the world of sophisticated, modern womenswear. On a rare sunny February afternoon at The Bowery Hotel, TWP showcased its penchant for timeless luxury through quality fabrications and thoughtful layering.

“My inspiration has always been to make clothes that women want to wear,” Trish Wescoat Pound told Fashionista backstage at TWP’s Fall 2025 runway show on Monday. “I mean, that’s really the only way I design. I don’t really design to a theme. It’s more about fabrications and fit and the way that women dress and layer.”

The collection’s opening look — a deep V-neck golden sequin gown, styled over a casual gray top and layered beneath a pine green trench coat — set the tone for the rest of the line, a masterclass in layering. Floor-length outerwear conceals tailored blazers, cashmere sweaters double as scarves, collared button-ups stack atop one another and puffer jackets wrap around waists as makeshift belts. But much of the allure surrounding TWP’s garments comes from the technical design features that are only apparent when physically experiencing its pieces, such as the silk-lined interiors of the brand’s floor-length dresses, the softness of its Italian cashmere and the sleek tailoring of its menswear-inspired blazers. As Pound said: “It’s all about small details.”

“There’s this casual nature to everything that we do, […] and it’s about layering and it’s about being an individual, but it’s just really nice clothes that are cool,” she shared.

Alongside the New York City-based brand’s impressive layering and construction, Fall 2025 delivers a “grounding” color palette of earthy green, deep navy, midnight plum, chocolate brown and a sea of complementary neutrals. The collection also plays with textures by incorporating shining silk, glittering metallics, smooth leather and fur-lined trims for dynamic ensembles.

“The funny thing is, I’m always in perpetual design mode, so I go from one to the next,” Pound said. “I never think about seasons. I think about classification. So I think, how do I make a great blazer? How do I make a great coat? We’re very much about fabrics, and everything starts with fabrics, so I think it’s always about the fabrics that we use and the richness of those. I just want people to feel comfortable with clothes, and that’s the most important thing to me.”
