Though I have a never-ending stack of tote bags crushed up in a closet, readily available for any occasion, there’s still a part of me that feels like just one more would fill a space in my heart. And I’ve stumbled upon one that seems to promise not just that, but also a sense of youthful energy and fun to any outfit.
This denim tote from La Milanesa is both practical and extremely adorable. From corner to corner, it’s adorned with mini stuffed animal finger puppets — pigs, zebras, turtles and many more creatures are represented. Beyond its campy embellishments, the bag has a ruched handle and a detachable shoulder strap (should you want to switch up how you wear it), as well as a magnetic button closure.

Though it may seem a little ridiculous, my reaction is a bit more sentimental: Why not wear something that makes you feel like a kid again? The question that mostly rings in my head, however, is… Why didn’t I think to glue a bunch of finger puppets onto a tote first?
As much as the plush toys themselves ignite a feeling of nostalgia for my childhood, it also makes me think of Rachel Berry’s attempt at recreating Lady Gaga‘s 2009 Kermit-covered outfit by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. (Too niche?)
Ultimately, this tote tops my summer wishlist. Whether for the beach, work or just a day out and about, it’s bound to make absolutely any outfit ten times better.
