Editors’ Picks are the Fashionista team’s true (#notspon) fashion and beauty obsessions, handpicked by professionals who see it all.

Summers in New York City are on another level. Yes, it’s hot and humid, but there’s also an electric energy anywhere you go, any time of day — especially on Fridays, when many start the weekend early by generally agreeing that, realistically, not much will get done after 2:00 p.m.
Rachel Antonoff perfectly captured this feeling in a dress in her Spring 2023 collection: specifically the Gwen dress in a light blue-and-white plaid dobby fabric with a giant Aperol Spritz in the middle, illustrated by Hazel Lee Santino. (The adjustable, red-and-white-striped straps are inspired by drinking straws, and match the one in the “Spritz” artwork.)
The fitted A-line mini retails for $275, and is available in sizes 0 through 26. (I haven’t seen it in person, but the product description cautions that the style runs small.) There are other prints available, by a range of artists — orange seashells, heart lollipops, caviar tins, pink things — but the Aperol Spritz Gwen calls to me during this very special time of year.
