If you, like me, have admired Markarian‘s exquisite floral brocades and embroidered fabrics from afar, patiently waiting for the day you’d have a regular-on-the-gala-circuit shopping budget, the brand just released a collaboration that will get you there a bit sooner.
Founder Alexandra O’Neill worked with Italian footwear brand Vibi Venezia to bring three of Markarian’s Pre-Fall 2024 textiles to two of its signature silhouettes — a classic slipper and a Mary Jane. The best part: Each pair retails for $210. (For context, Markarian ready-to-wear typically starts at around $650.)

I’m particularly drawn to the Mary Janes, as I’ve never been able to find ones that I liked and that didn’t make me feel like I was getting ready for school. (Thirteen years of uniformed Catholic education will do that.) The grosgrain trim add to the summery feel of the fabrics, and the shoes have a rubber sole for maximum wear. (I’m hard on my shoes, so that’s important.)
Because the collaboration uses brocades from an actual collection, there are Markarian dresses that match each style. I’m not at “full look” just yet, but I aspire to be.
