Ridiculously Pretty!

The NYFW Street Style Crowd Brings the No-Pants Trend to Real Life

Sure, many of us have bolted awake from a nightmare where we stumbled into school or work in our underwear, but stylish New York Fashion Week guests and city dwellers alike are fully embracing the underwear-as-pants trend with intention (and the accompanying slight chill). The no-pants trend is a look we’ve seen on the runways for several seasons, and this season, it’s officially hit the streets of New York City.

Most often paired with oversized outerwear — trench coats, bomber jackets or boxy blazers — the no-pants look turns traditional styling cues on its head. Showgoers have styled the thigh-baring look by camouflaging their underwear with oversized button-downs or spotlighting it à la Miu Miu styling codes (or rather, underwear-as-outerwear). Even the stars are tapping into the trend: While attending Tommy Hilfiger‘s Spring 2025 show, both Winnie Harlow and Shay Mitchell sported similar pants-free ensembles by the designer with beige trench coats, oversized preppy tops, black boots and red caps.

Check out some of our favorite pants-free styles on the street outside of the Spring 2025 shows below.
