The 7 Biggest Fall 2025 Trends From New York Fashion Week

Once again, the latest shows at New York Fashion Week came through as a fresh source of sartorial inspiration, filled with plenty of hints at how we’ll be dressing six months from now. From a versatile array of hoods and head coverings and cozy furs to keep the cold at bay, to the resurgence of popped collars and brooches, keep scrolling for the top Fall 2025 trends to know from the New York runways.

Popped Collars

The country club’s favorite trend is poised for a comeback: Popped collars were all over the New York runways, with a winter-friendly twist. Brands like Khaite, Luar and Altuzurra presented neck-shielding collars on outerwear to help face the chilliest days in style. 

Playing With Fur

Fur — both real and faux — is a classic for fall, and for Fall 2025, designers gave it the spotlight: Some went for statement coats (Luar, Ulla Johnson, Aknvas), others tapped it for eye-catching trims (Kobi Halperin, Sergio Hudson) and a few transformed it into fun accessories (Kim Shui, Michael Kors). Plus, we love it when a runway favorite is a street-style one, too.

Not Your Grandma’s Brooch

Brooches made for a lot of fun styling this fashion week, whether for a practical outwear closure (Tory Burch, Melke, Carolina Herrera) or simply a fun adornment to add to an outfit (Alice & Olivia, Kobi Halperin).

Day-to-Night Pinstripes

Designers used pinstripes on a wide variety of silhouettes, fabric-blocking and embellishments: 5000, Jane Wade and Sergio Hudson offered up the classic print on tailored suiting, while Simkhai and Carolina Herrera adorned it with intricate embroideries. 

Every Kind of Hood

From balaclavas to sweatshirt hoods to fur hats, this fall, brands are providing endless ways to keep our heads and ears fashionably warm.

Power Shoulders

The Fall 2025 shows embraced modernized takes on the ’80s power shoulder, with intentional padding, as seen at Thom Browne, Christian Siriano, Vettese, Christopher John Rogers and many more.
