On Monday, celebrities and fashion A-listers gathered on the Upper East side in honor of the 2024 Met Gala. Their creative interpretations of “The Garden of Time” dress code ranged from tree-adjacent to bouquet-filled and bird-adorned, and many of them also got playful with their beauty looks.
Standout makeup trends included experimental eyebrow play (shout-out to Tyla’s eyebrow slit, Zendaya‘s pencil-thin arches and then bleached brows) and adhesive embellishments (see: Ariana Grande‘s appliqués, FKA Twigs‘ bejeweled freckles and Keke Palmer’s bedazzled highlight). On the hair front, it was an anything-goes evening: Short, choppy haircuts, sculptural updos, more-is-more length and maximalist accessories, made the evening itself a veritable bouquet of dreamy hair inspiration.
