Move over, flats: The era of heels is nigh.
With comfort now taking such precedence across the fashion world post-pandemic, there’s just something about a slick, spiky stiletto that feels almost traditionalist, like a token of a different era. This fashion month, though, heels were anything but archaic, with platforms, boots, pumps and more exhibiting towering heights and inventive silhouettes, details and proportions. This doesn’t mean that flat footwear — think loafers, ballet flats and the odd mule here or there — wasn’t also well-represented on the Fall 2023 runways, which is fantastic news for those of us who kicked our heel habit years ago.
