Sunday evening marked Hollywood’s biggest night: the 2023 Oscars. As always, stars showed up in their most epic looks — corsets! vintage! voluminous gowns! — and hair and makeup to accompany them.
Some attendees leaned into classic, retro glam: Angela Bassett wore voluminous, ’70s-style wavy hair; Fan Bingbing paired a pristine red lip with a finger-waved bob; Cara Delevingne and Elizabeth Olsen wore their hair swept up into sleek chignons. Others, though, went a bit more avant-garde — like Florence Pugh‘s swoop-y bun, Halle Bailey‘s updo and Danai Gurira‘s truly stunning sculptural hairstyle.
