The 12 Best Beauty Looks From the Grammys Red Carpet

See the most memorable hair and makeup moments.

Awards season continued with the 2023 Grammys, and as is usually the case with the music industry’s biggest night, stars had a lot more fun with their fashion choices than they might at, say, the more reserved Oscars. That’s also true when it comes to beauty: The makeup is bolder, the hair is bigger and the nails are full-on looks in their own right.

On the red carpet, red lips were easily the reigning beauty trend of the evening: We spotted a variety of iterations — from classic to edgy — on the likes of H.E.R., Dylan Mulvaney, Charlotte Lawrence and Mehgan James, to name only a few. There were also throwback ’90s-esque makeup looks, like Doja Cat and Amanda Gorman‘s brown-tinged burgundy lips. And perhaps unsurprisingly, given the gothcore trend that ruled at the Grammys, we saw multiple instances of bleached brows, including on Maren Morris and Doja Cat (a relatively subdued look for the latter).

As for stand-out hairstyles, more-is-more looks had a big (pun intended) moment, with Amanda Reifer in a sculptural, towering updo by Larry Sims and H.E.R. flaunting piles of voluminous curls. We also spotted multiple wet-effect styles, like those on Morris and Tiara Thomas.
