Steph's Skin Is Really Liking This Aesthetically Pleasing Face Oil Right Now

It leaves skin glow-y, but not feeling like a Slip ‘n’ Slide.

As a beauty editor, it feels like I hear about a new buzzy face oil roughly once a day. And in my experience, they rarely live up to the hype. Yet every so often, I encounter a truly exceptional one that somehow seems worthy of its up-there price tag. The latest example? Supernal’s Cosmic Glow Oil.

First, this is one aesthetically pleasing oil: It has the translucent emerald tinge of a green juice and comes housed in a weighty glass bottle that’s topped with a black medicine dropper and adorned with the brand’s minimalist black-and-white (yet refreshingly serifed!) logo. While I, Instagram-obsessed millennial, will be the first to admit that the appearance is what initially drew me to this product, it was what’s inside that really hooked me.

A blend of organic, wild-harvested and/or non-GMO moisturizing, omega- and antioxidant-rich oils like camellia, squalane, amla, marula, cranberry seed and blue tansy, the formula is also fortified with brightening vitamin C and vitamin E (an antioxidant that also has healing and preservative properties). Despite being loaded with so many oils, it doesn’t leave skin feeling like a Slip ‘n’ Slide: Going with the recommended dosage of “a few drops” and suggested method of “warming it in the palms of your hands” and “pressing it into cleansed skin and gently blending in an upwards motion,” I find that the product absorbs well, leaving skin dewy and glow-y, with a level of slickness that mostly subsides by the time I’m ready to top it with sunscreen and makeup. (Disclaimer: I’m someone who doesn’t mind a bit of a sheen — if you’re a matte skin enthusiast, this may still be a bit much for you.)

This oil has really helped my skin stay relatively balanced and chill during the winter-to-spring season change, and it also made for a pretty decent Insta flatlay, if I do say so myself. If only every Insta-bait brand could deliver so well.
