Steph Isn't Ready to Let the Sherpa Jacket Trend Die

I realize most of us got the sherpa jacket fixation out of our systems last winter. But guess what? I, someone who refuses to let a trend die and only just gave away her Stan Smiths, am not ready to part with it just yet. I love a practical wardrobe topper, and as I’ve said time and time again, coziness ranks high among my sartorial priorities. So you can bet I’m going to keep piling on the fuzzy fleeces and nubby layers for fall and winter 2019.

As I stock up on cold-weather essentials, I’ve have my eye on this more structured sherpa jacket from Madewell, a retailer whose fall lookbook I’d really like to live in. With a snap front and olive trim, it feels a bit less scruffy (and perhaps more office appropriate?) than other versions, and the medium weight seems like it would make for an ideal layering piece. So what if I singlehandedly drive this trend into the ground? I’ll be nice and warm while I do it.
