In the last couple of seasons, the runways have seen a resurgence of high-octane glamour, glitter and sequins. This shimmery trend quickly trickled down to the red carpet, where celebrities and their stylists have continued to prove that embellished garments aren’t just reserved for champagne-filled holiday affairs; they also pair exceedingly well with movie premieres, summer parties and charity galas.

On Tuesday night, Dapper Dan wore a sparkling three-piece suit from his collaboration with Gucci in a calming shade of purple to The Love Ball III, where he and several nightlife icons, celebrities, designers and notable members from the ballroom community gathered to raise money for HIV and AIDS charities. Janet Mock was also in attendance and she too opted for sparkle. She wore a V-neck dress embellished with copper embroidered sequins from Prabal Gurung‘s Pre-Fall 2019 collection.

The next evening, celebrities hit the rainbow carpet for the opening night of World Pride in New York City in glitzy ensembles. “Pose” actor and the red carpet gift that keeps on giving Billy Porter arrived in a blinged out catsuit covered in 50,000 crystals, which he paired with a ground-grazing Cruella de Vil-inspired coat that featured a bright red silk lining to match his custom Sarah Sokol Millinery hat.

Across the country and the Atlantic, more stars shined: There was Zendaya in a black-and-red sequin gown by Armani Privé at the “Spider-Man: Far From Home” premiere in Hollywood, and Felicity Jones in a twinkly Chanel gown at the annual Serpentine Summer Party in London.
