What: A self-care brand from California offering skin- and body-care products tested by dermatologists and approved by mental health professionals for a better understanding of how stress impacts skin.

Price Range: $28-$42

Founder: Stephanie Lee

Origin Story: Lee founded Selfmade in 2020 as a skin-care brand pioneering “psychodermatology,” which explores the interaction between mind and skin, through multi-use products for sensitive skin.

Developed with insights from BIPOC mental health professionals, its four product line-up can be used any and everywhere externally. With an emphasis on self-exploration, Selfmade “goes beyond self-expression to understand how our mental health affects our skin and physical self” and aims to resonate with a Gen Z consumer base. For example, its latest launch, Rumination Recovery Balm, is a muscle tension-relieving balm that boasts ingredients like turmeric root stem cells, chaga and agarikon mushrooms, capsicum, menthol and arnica montana extract.
