Inspired by the “Great British Outdoors.”
JW Anderson first started collaborating with Uniqlo in 2017, and the unique pairing has been cranking out much-anticipated collections ever since. The first collection featured plenty of tartan and Herringbone tweed, the second went for English beach-inspired denims and stripes, and the third was full of rugby shirts and Peter Pan collars galore.
Now the British designer and Japanese retailer are back for their fourth collab, called “The Great British Outdoors.” For Fall 2019, JW Anderson drew inspiration from the town of St. Ives in Cornwall, England. The collection includes a variety of practical outerwear, from cool puffers to cozy fleeces to coats with subtly unique details. Easy-to-wear skirts in plaid, corduroy and breezy pleats abound, as do pairs of practical, straightforward pants, a few different sweater silhouettes and a couple of scarf patterns.
“Like all the seasons I’ve done with Uniqlo, it’s always interesting to see the collection evolve through the meetings with the teams and see it really become this amalgamation of Lifewear and JW Anderson,” Anderson said in a release. “I liked this idea of pops of color to make the heritage British patterns and colors feel a bit more modern.”
