Origin Story: Founded by Jami and Klaus Heidegger in 2014 and now joined by their daughter, Hannah, Retrouvé (French for “to find again”) combines “highly effective ingredients in elevated concentrations” with “luxurious, skin-supporting formulas.”

In creating Retrouvé, the founders harnessed their lineage — and four generations of skin-care knowledge — as the family behind Kiehl’s Since 1851. Jami developed these powerful, gender-neutral products for their own use only and never intended on selling them, but their friends and family started asking for them and the demand grew. Over the years, Jami evolved and refined the formulations as new technologies became available.

Retrouvé’s collection of multi-purpose products address skin dehydration, roughness, dullness, fine lines and wrinkles. Jami and the Retrouvé team innovated the trademarked Triple Airless Protection System (RTAPS313), which is “a technologically advanced, airless manufacturing process and delivery system that help prevent ingredients from degrading prematurely, remaining potent and stable for maximum efficacy.” The brand creates products in small batches and harvests ingredients directly from its “sustainable permaculture family farm,” Palms of Malibu.
