Proenza Schouler Reveals Fall 2025 Collection, Sans Jack and Lazaro

It’s not that unusual for a big European luxury house to show a seasonal collection (or even several) without a name behind it while in-between creative directors. But when a comparatively young New York label that had always been helmed by its founders does it, it feels unfamiliar.

Such is the case with Proenza Schouler’s Fall 2025 collection, unveiled via lookbook on Thursday, shortly after the end of New York Fashion Week and about three weeks after Jack McCullough and Lazaro Hernandez stepped down from brand they founded in 2002. But upon viewing the images (photographed in Upstate New York by Tim Elkaïm), there is immediate familiarity, in the brand-favorite models — Mica Argañaraz, Julia Nobis and Binx Walton — and the designers’ long-honed knack for rooting luxurious, sumptuous clothes and accessories in real-world practicality.

Knitwear and dress silhouettes recall those from Spring 2025, but are done in heavier fabrics and in plaids instead of stripes. Pants are generously cut and outerwear is cozily oversized in ways that feel desirably comforting. Handbags are understated, functional and cool. Per the show notes, Fall 2025 “reinterprets traditional American codes through a new lens, balancing the rawness of the natural world with a refined, urban sensibility.” Rendered in black, grey and various earth tones, there’s an undeniable commerce-friendly versatility to the collection — likely to keep things moving until the brand’s next creative leader is hired.
