Founder: Daniella Ciano

Origin Story: Founder Daniella Ciano grew up in a garage-turned-sewing-studio, watching her Italian mother work the machine for local fashion labels while raising three daughters. By 13, she was drafting patterns under the guidance of a family friend — a no-nonsense Italian seamstress who gave her a hands-on education in craftsmanship and discipline. She left school at 15 to formally study Fashion Design and Technology — back in the ’80s, when everything was still done by hand. Her first job out of college landed her in swimwear, and the rest came naturally. Over the next two decades, she designed for major Australian labels including Seafolly, Billabong, Rhythm and Quiksilver, leading global teams and refining her technical mastery of fit, fabrication and feel.

After a long run in corporate fashion, a moment of career pause — and a nudge from a former colleague — led to a new chapter. “Why don’t you start your own label?” they asked. And she did. Launched in January 2023, Poolside Paradiso is a sun-drenched vision of escapism: vintage island nostalgia meets contemporary swim- and resort-wear. Each collection captures the feeling of chasing the sun — relaxed, romantic and quietly confident. Luxe textures, thoughtfully placed prints and timeless silhouettes define the brand’s signature aesthetic, with every piece designed to be lived in and loved for seasons to come.

Based on Australia’s Gold Coast and still family-run, the brand remains deeply personal. In May 2024, her partner Andy — a former welder of 26 years — joined the business, bringing the same grit and dedication to logistics and operations that she brings to the creative side. Now stocked in more than 90 stores across Australia and the U.S., Poolside Paradiso is made for the modern vacationer: island dreamers, sunset lovers and anyone who believes in living like it’s summer every day.
