Pipenco Fall 2025 Tells the Tale of 'Dracula' Through the Female Lens

“This collection is inspired [by] the story of ‘Dracula,’ the Romanian tale I grew up with,” designer Lorena Pipenco told Fashionista ahead of Pipenco’s Fall 2025 show. “I was fascinated [by] the love story behind it rather than Dracula himself. So I started exploring the women in his life — rather than him — what they would be wearing during that time and what kind of women they would be.”

Pipenco’s resulting collection is a far cry from the traditional costumes that concept may evoke. (Though it does draw inspiration from “Interview With a Vampire”‘s Claudia de Pointe du Lac de Lioncourt and Bram Stoker’s “Dracula,” according to the show notes.) Instead, the lineup celebrates these unseen women taking up space with voluminous silhouettes and oversized accessories.

Models walked the runway in babydoll dresses in exaggerated proportions, Victorian ruffled blouses with extra-puffy sleeves and a high-collared, caped mini dress. There are plenty of hats (a Pipenco staple) too, rendered in extreme heights that defy the idea of tophats being a male-only accessory. 

A lot of the knitwear — another Pipenco signature — is deconstructed to provide a “ghostly feeling,” the designer shared. “It’s fun because it gives this feeling of a woman being covered, but also exposed.” Other designs feature old chandeliers and upcycled vintage furniture that references items found in Dracula’s house.

“The importance of this collection is bringing the memories of the women rather than Dracula himself,” Pipenco said. “It’s about the women that were affected because of things he went through. He’s always at the forefront of every story when it’s really the women that made him who he was.”
