When you think of Parisian fashion, sleek silhouettes and neutral color palettes may come to mind first. But on the streets of Paris Fashion Week this season, showgoers challenged that notion, incorporating bright pops of color into many of their looks, with the most ubiquitous example being red.
Accessories proved the most popular way to work in a variety of punchy, vibrant red tones. Inventive handbags, pussy bows, kitten heels and chunky sunglasses in shades of oxblood, poppy, fire engine and crimson gave attendees’ grayscale ensembles a touch of vibrance.
Others decided to wear the shade in a more statement-making way. Through monochromatic tracksuits, Muppet-like shaggy jackets, opaque tights and long leather trench coats, the Parisian fashion crowd has made their preferred color of the season quite clear.
