Never underestimate the happiness-boosting powers of having cozy feet.
Plenty of people associate winter with sleet and snow and slush and soggy feet. I’m one of them, but having now lived in New York City for the better part of the last decade, I’m pretty used to having to face the elements and walk around in them just to get to the office every day. The key is to be as prepared as possible — a little wardrobe planning and some dependable cold-weather gear can go a long way toward preventing weather-induced misery.
One thing in particular I’ve learned is to never underestimate the happiness-boosting powers of having cozy feet. That being the case, I’ve had my eye on these cute-yet-exceedingly-practical shearling lined boots from Madewell as snowy sidewalk season rapidly approaches. I like that they have a rubber sole for traction, but are still substantially less clunky than the Timberland boots I already own, which makes them feel a bit more versatile.
