Teyana Taylor to host 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards
Teyana Taylor will host the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards, presented by Amazon Fashion. The awards ceremony and gala dinner will be held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City on Nov. 3. Naomi Campbell will give Pieter Mulier of Alaïa the International Designer of the Year Award, Cynthia Rowley will receive the The Founder’s Award in honor of Eleanor Lambert while Leslie Bibb and Joseph Altuzarra will present the American Womenswear Designer of the Year award. {CFDA}
Frame names new CEO
Frame has appointed Silvia Merati as its new CEO. Merati joins Frame from Golden Goose, where she led the brand’s direct-to-consumer expansion as CEO of Americas from 2019. Merati succeeds Nicholas Dreyfus, who held the position since 2020 and will transition to an executive chairman role. Universal Pictures makes bigger licensing push for “Wicked: For Good”
Universal Pictures is making an even bigger licensing push to coincide with the second installment of the “Wicked” movie, featuring dozens of brands across categories like home, apparel, beauty and accessories. Universal told Modern Retail that it brought on more than 300 official licensing partners this year, and 50% of the partners are new. Some of this year’s partners include Voluspa, Bombas, Stanley, Pottery Barn, Le Creuset and Williams Sonoma, among others. {Modern Retail}
VF Corp sees better-than-expected Q2 results
VF Corp, the parent company of Vans, The North Face and Timberland, reported its second quarter financial results for 2026 on Tuesday, which showed better-than-expected revenue of $2.8 billion. Revenue at The North Face and Timberland grew 6% and 7% compared to last year, respectively, while Vans declined by 9%. In September, the company also announced the pending sale of Dickies to Bluestar Alliance for $600 million. {VF Corp}
Saks Global launches new incentive program
Saks Global is launching Seller Success Track, a program elevating incentives for stylists and selling associates. Starting in November, the program is designed to motivate associates to sell more merchandise, provide tools to improve their selling skills, identify clearer career paths for workers as they achieve certain goals and make customers feel they’re getting better service. Incentives under the program include new customer acquisition support and providing an assistant for an associate.{WWD/paywalled}
Why Set Active is advertising on TSA bins
From Nov. 3 to Dec. 7, Set Active will take over 1,535 Transportation Security Administration (TSA) bins at Los Angeles International Airport. The trays will show off imagery from Set Active’s new seasonal collection, including sports bras, sweatpants, leggings and sweatshirts. With this new campaign, Set Active is focusing on customer acquisition, and it hopes the airport — a place where people often wear athleisure to travel — can be key to this effort. {Glossy/paywalled}
