Despite the criticism President Zelensky received from the Trump administration regarding his attire at his White House visit, Ukrainian designer Elvira Gasanova of Damirli stood firm in her designs. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance condemned Zelensky for showing up in an all-black three-button knitted long-sleeve polo shirt and trousers instead of a formal suit. Gasanova shared with WWD that Zelensky has not worn a suit since the Russian invasion, as Ukrainians believe that a president should not wear a suit during a time of war. {WWD/paywalled}

Haider Ackermann, the new creative director at Tom Ford, spoke to The New York Times’ Vanessa Friedman about his vision for where he wants to take the brand. In the interview, he shared his experience of being kicked out from Berluti, receiving approval from Tom Ford himself and preparing for the upcoming debut runway show this Wednesday during Paris Fashion Week. “If people are expecting hot sex, no, you will not see it from me,” Ackermann told Friedman. “I don’t have that talent, to be very provocative or very avant-garde. I have different codes. I’m not there to continue exactly the past.” {The New York Times/paywalled}
