Loewe releases Spring 2025 pre-collection campaign
Loewe released its Spring 2025 pre-collection campaign starring Ambika Mod, Ayo Edebiri, Baifern Pimchanok, Drew Starkey, Leo Woodall, Richard Gadd, Rose Wylie and Sue Kroll. Photographed by Juergen Teller, the campaign is set against a white background to reference traditional fashion portraiture, with performers representing human stereotypes such as body builders, medieval knights and scuba divers in the background. CR Fashion Book to launch sports fashion magazine
CR Fashion Book will launch a biannual magazine covering the intersection of fashion and sports beginning in spring 2025. With Dwyane Wade serving as the publication’s inaugural guest editor, it will cover the relationship between fashion icons and athletes through interviews, visuals and essays. The platform will also introduce e-commerce, exclusive brand collaborations, capsule collections and merchandise drops from athletes and designers spanning men’s and women’s fashion. “Fashion and sport are two powerful forms of expression that inspire millions around the globe,” Carine Roitfeld, CR Fashion Book‘s founder, said in a statement. “We aim to create a space that celebrates this fusion and showcases the unique stories that emerge when these worlds collide.” {Fashionista inbox}

Sorel and Proenza Schouler launch footwear collaboration
Footwear brand Sorel and luxury fashion brand Proenza Schouler teamed up to launch a limited-edition footwear collaboration. First debuting on Proenza Schouler’s Spring 2025 runway, the collection includes the Caribou Mule ($350) and Caribou Chelsea Boot ($400), both in a palette of black, ochre and ecru. The collaboration is available now at sorel.com, proenzaschouler.com and select fashion and online retailers including Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Net-a-Porter, Ssense and more. Adidas and Wales Bonner present Fall 2024 collection
With homages to hip hop culture, Adidas Originals and Wales Bonner unveiled their Fall 2024 collection, which includes floral vests, shorts, tops, tracksuits, hoodies and outerwear. The footwear offering features the reprise of the Adidas Originals Superstar, the Wales Bonner Samba’s update in two crocodile-printed leather make ups and the Samba Millenium available in two colorways both crafted with crocodile-printed leather at the heel. Photographed by Rennell Medrano, the campaign reflects New York’s Harlem neighborhood and stars professional skaters Carlisle Aikens and Kader Sylla. Cynthia Erivo to host 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards
The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced that Cynthia Erivo will host the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards taking place on Oct. 28 at the American Museum of Natural History. Presenters include Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton introducing the American Accessory Designer of the Year, Molly Gordon introducing the Google Shopping American Emerging Designer of the Year and Molly Ringwald introducing the Isabel Toledo Board of Directors’ Tribute, to be accepted by Ruben Toledo. Anna Wintour will present the Media Award in honor of Eugenia Sheppard to Annie Leibovitz, while Marc Jacobs will give Hamish Bowles The Founder’s Award in honor of Eleanor Lambert. {Fashionista inbox}

Top fashion designers donate to Kamala Harris
Designers tend to lean liberal politicall,y while executives often favor Republicans, but a WWD spot check of political donations found designers are still largely backing Democrats. Vera Wang, Michael Kors and Tory Burch ranked as the biggest individual political donors in fashion for the 2023-24 period and all gave heavily to Democrats. As for retailer donations, Kamala Harris received $2.7 million, while Donald Trump took in $1.1 million from the industry. {WWD/paywalled}

Carlos Nazario debuts his first Moose Knuckles collection
After being named Moose Knuckles‘s global artistic director in 2023, Carlos Nazario debuted his first collection for the brand under Moose Lab, a new platform designed for creative collaborations. Nazario’s 12-piece debut collection is inspired by utilitarian functionality and ’90s fashion trends, resulting in outerwear and accessories made from leather, Mongolian wool, down and shearling. Former Abercrombie CEO arrested in sex trafficking investigation
Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries, his partner Matt Smith and a third man, Jim Jacobson, were arrested Tuesday as part of a criminal sex trafficking investigation by the FBI and federal prosecutors in Brooklyn, ABC News reported. The investigation involved whether the men sexually exploited and abused young men at parties they hosted in the U.S. and around the world. Last year, Abercrombie & Fitch faced a lawsuit accusing the brand of funding Jeffries’s alleged sex trafficking operations. {ABC News}
