Kering commits to reducing absolute emissions by 40% by 2035
The French luxury conglomerate, Kering, announced its commitment to reduce its absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2035, during an event Friday morning. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Kering, François Henri-Pinault said, “Now we are setting this new absolute target, spanning scopes 1, 2 and 3 of the greenhouse gas protocol, because, if we want to truly decarbonize our global businesses, we need to move from carbon intensity reductions to absolute reductions.” Chief Sustainability and Institutional Affairs Officer at Kering, Marie-Claire Daveu added, “We never stop pushing forward, and when our sustainability targets are in sight, we move the benchmark even further away.” {Fashionista inbox}

How affiliate links have changed the relationship between publicists and media
For Business of Fashion, Diana Pearl explores the growing phenomenon of affiliate links within media. Affiliate networks are platforms that track when readers buy something from a hyperlink, giving magazines and newspapers the opportunity to make a commission on sales. Valeria Palmertree, a PR consultant, told Pearl that receiving inclusion for a new client was nearly impossible — that is, until the brand became a part of an affiliate network. Though these commissions are helping to save dying publications, some worry that editors are being solely driven by commission rather than honesty. “There’s supposed to be that separation of church and state with advertising,” said Palmertree. “It feels like there’s a little bit of a blurred line there now that maybe didn’t exist before.” {Business of Fashion}

Fendi to hold men’s Spring 2024 show in Tuscany
On June 15, during Pitti Uomo (one of the largest menswear trade shows in the world), Fendi will present its men’s Spring 2024 collection at its new factory in Capannuccia — 30 minutes outside of Florence. “It is a special place for our artisans and local community as it represents Fendi heritage and creativity, nurturing precious handmade abilities of its artisans and preserving Made in Italy,” said Serge Brunschwig, chairman and chief executive officer of Fendi, in a statement. The brand hopes that its decision to present in Tuscany enhances “the fashion industry and local territory.” {WWD}
