Peter Copping makes his Lanvin debut
For Peter Copping’s inaugural Lanvin collection, The New York Times’ fashion critic Vanessa Friedman gave her stamp of approval, applauding Copping for giving small sartorial nods to founder Jeanne Lanvin without predictable repetition. She deemed the lineup’s womenswear more successful than its menswear and notes Copping faced high expectations reinvigorating the storied House from its “near-total irrelevance.” {The New York Times/paywalled}

E.l.f. Cosmetics keeps DEI initiatives amid industry-wide regression
Companies are pulling back from diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs following President Donald Trump’s reinstatement and conservative attacks. Beauty brand E.l.f. Cosmetics, however, is staying firm in its commitment to DEI. While the company doesn’t have a DEI team, it has an inclusive strategy: 75% of its workforce are female and 40% people of color; it books transgender and non-binary models in campaigns and it advertises to a diverse customer base. “I think a lot is made out of this whole anti-DEI thing,” the company’s CEO Tarang Amin told CNN. “I think more people are committed to having more diverse workforces that are inclusive than there are people who are not.” {CNN}

Kim Jones awarded the prestigious Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur
On Friday afternoon, Dior’s menswear creative director Kim Jones received a Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, France’s highest civilian honor and a rarity for non-French nationals. Jones received the high honor only hours after Dior Men’s Fall 2025 runway presentation. Anna Wintour, global editorial director of Vogue and chief content officer of Condé Nast, presented him with the award, which is bestowed upon individuals who make significant contributions to France or its ideals. Estée Lauder Companies Group President to step down
Peter Jueptner, group president of Estée Lauder Companies, is set to exit his role effective April 1 and leave the company in June. He joined the company in 2009, working his way up until he was appointed Group President in 2022. Under his leadership, he expanded the company’s brand portfolio and grew its global footprint. “[Jueptner’s] legacy of growth, innovation, and strategic leadership, as well as his passion for nurturing and developing talent, will continue to inspire us for years to come,” Stéphane de La Faverie, President and CEO, said in a press statement. {Estée Lauder Companies}

How AI is impacting fashion design
As artificial intelligence gains strongholds across the fashion industry, design companies are increasingly utilizing its capabilities to enhance their creative processes. Some companies (like Gruppo Teddy) employ AI for virtual prototyping, while others (Merrell) experiment with AI-assisted release visualizations.
