Doechii covers Dazed

For the Spring 2025 “New Gen Issue” of Dazed, rapper and singer Doechii graces the cover wearing a full Acne Studios look styled and photographed by Ib Kamara. Throughout the spread, the star also wears pieces by Area, Off-White, Alexis Bittar, Frederick Anderson and Isabel Marant. As a newly revealed member of this year’s Met Gala committee, Doechii told the magazine, “You can expect the absolute most. I take this so seriously. I’m going to tell a story. I’m going to give a look. You can expect performance art, for sure — through fashion.” {Dazed}

Warby Parker to open shop-in-shops at Target

Target has teamed up with Warby Parker to open shop-in-shops in several of the retailer’s U.S. locations, including in Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ohio and Pennsylvania, with additional locations set to open in 2026. Warby Parker styles will also be shoppable on Target.com. {Target}

For Vogue Business, Lucy Maguire dives into MM6’s decision to not name a lead designer and instead remain mysterious about its creative team. Citing Maison Margiela founder Martin Margiela’s famously private life and career, Maguire says that the team’s anonymity seems to be a key element in its steadily growing success. Speaking to Maguire, a member of the MM6 team explained, “We don’t really do communication, we’ve just communicated through the product. And that has paid off.” {Vogue Business}

For The New York Times, Sarah Bahr interviews Steve Olive, the co-founder of Event Carpet Pros and the person responsible for most of Hollywood’s major event carpet orders — including the exclusive red colorway consistently seen at the Academy Awards since 1997. “We got involved from reaching out to the academy, and other vendors and contacts we had in the business that referred us,” he said. Throughout the year, Olive and his team complete more than 30,000 projects. Every carpet is made from recycled materials and is recycled after the events. {The New York Times}

Steve Madden to raise prices due to China tariffs

On an earnings call Wednesday, Edward Rosenfeld, chief executive officer of Steve Madden, told analysts that the company would be “selectively raising prices” following the higher cost of China tariffs, as put in place by the current White House administration. “Where we think that we can get a little bit more for the goods, we will do that starting in the fall.” The brand is also looking to reduce its production in China in an attempt to maintain its affordable prices. {Bloomberg}

Neiman Marcus deal triggers another round of layoffs at Saks Global

Following its $2.7 billion acquisition of Neiman Marcus, Saks Global confirmed a second round of significant layoffs occurred within the company. “We are continuing the integration process following our recent acquisition of Neiman Marcus Group by consolidating functional leadership, clarifying key decision makers and beginning to simplify our organizational structure,” a spokesperson told Retail Dive. {Retail Dive}

Adidas launches Honoring Black Excellence 2025 program

Adidas has announced its annual Honoring Black Excellence (HBE) program — an initiative that “recognizes Black community leaders and amplifies their work through impactful storytelling, giveback programs and community activations.” This year’s honorees include Quilters of Gee’s Bend, Jaycina Almond and Sekou Thornell. Adidas also donated a community grant to the Quilters’ non-profit organization Sew Gee’s Bend Heritage Builders and released a limited-edition NCAA basketball jersey collection, available to purchase on Adidas.com with a portion of the proceeds going to the Quilters and Adidas’ HBCU partners. {Fashionista inbox}
