British Fashion Council reveals 2024 Fashion Awards winners

The British Fashion Council revealed the winners of the Fashion Awards 2024 on Monday. Jonathan Anderson of JW Anderson and Loewe won Designer of the Year, Alex Consani made history as the first transgender woman to win Model of the Year, Grace Wales Bonner of Wales Bonner won British Menswear Designer Award and Simone Rocha won British Womenswear Designer Award. Tom Ford won the Outstanding Achievement Award, A$AP Rocky won the Cultural Innovator Award and Issa Rae won the Pandora Leader of Change Award. Off-White enters fragrance and cosmetics license with Interparfums SA

Interparfums SA has obtained a fragrance and cosmetics license with Off-White that is effective starting Jan. 1, 2026. Off-White joins Interparfums, Inc.’s portfolio of fragrance licenses for Abercrombie & Fitch, Coach, Ferragamo, Jimmy Choo, Kate Spade, Lacoste and more. “Off-White blends the worlds of streetwear and luxury in a spirit of talent and inventiveness,” Jean Madar, chairman and CEO of Interparfums, said in a statement. “This is a tremendous opportunity for us considering the brand’s unique positioning, not to mention Virgil Abloh’s impressive creative legacy. This brand will help us explore new openings for fragrances in the luxury sector.” {Interparfums SA}

Puck’s “Line Sheet” welcomes retail expert Sarah Shapiro

Puck has tapped retail expert Sarah Shapiro as its newest writer contributing to Lauren Sherman‘s “Line Sheet” fashion newsletter. With a background at heritage retailers, DTC startups and her own “Retail Diary” newsletter, Shapiro will dive into consumer behavior, fashion trends and retail innovation. “I’m proud to welcome ‘Retail Diary’ author and industry veteran Sarah Shapiro to Puck as our newest correspondent covering everything from the transformation of the American mall to the aftermath of the e-commerce revolution,” Sherman said in a statement on Instagram. {Instagram

Violette_FR lands series B funding

Violette_FR has raised series B funding in a round led by Silas Capital alongside Experienced Capital, Monogram Capital Partners and Felix Capital. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and this capital infusion will fuel the beauty brand’s next phase of growth with a focus on global expansion, product innovation and digital enhancement. “I’ve always approached my business with a long-term vision, akin to building a luxury maison rather than a high-growth startup,” Violette_FR founder Violette Serrat said in a statement. “Because of this, I have carefully orchestrated my dream line of products while staying customer-centric and true to my instincts. Virtual sneaker brand Rtfkt is shutting down

Nike acquired virtual sneaker brand Rtfkt in 2021, and now, the four-year-old company is shutting down. Rtfkt will launch a website showcasing its work, including its NFTs of digital, Takashi Murakami-designed avatars to virtual versions of Nike Dunks. The brand will cease operations by the end of January. This decision comes less than two months after Nike named Elliott Hill its new CEO as the company works to revive the business. {Business of Fashion/paywalled}
