Birkenstock wins copyright case

Birkenstock said it won a Dutch court ruling in a copyright case against shoe retailer Scapino. The District Court of Midden-Nederland in Utrecht in the Netherlands has issued an injunction barring the Dutch company from selling what Birkenstock said are unauthorized copies of its Arizona, Madric and Florida sandal styles. Birkenstock also said the decision is not final and can still be appealed. {WWD/paywalled}

Culted launches CultedXO

Culted is launching CultedXO, a digital community platform specifically designed for Gen Z women. CultedXO aims to address a critical gap in the market by creating a space for peer support, mentorship and conversation among female creatives. Under Armour parts ways with Steph Curry

Under Armour and Stephen Curry have parted ways. Curry, who signed with the brand in 2013 after his Nike contract expired, created the “Curry Brand” within Under Armour in 2020. The brand will become independent of Under Armour following the split. Under Armour said it had expanded its restructuring plans and intends to incur an additional $95 million in charges that includes the Curry split. {Business of Fashion/paywalled}

Patagonia CEO talks sustainability efforts

Outerwear brand Patagonia has played a central role in modeling the idea that businesses can balance profit and purpose. On Thursday, Patagonia published a progress report chronicling its sustainability efforts to date and its impact. While Patagonia’s investments have helped protect millions of acres of land, it’s had more limited success delivering on efforts to curb its own impact, with strides forward tempered by tough structural hurdles. {Business of Fashion/paywalled}

Hermès names new head of perfume and beauty

Anne-Sarah Panhard has been named the new managing director of Hermès Perfumes and Beauty. She joined the house in 2011, and has held the role of managing director of Hermès Maison since 2018. Panhard began in the beauty role on Nov. 1. {WWD/paywalled}
